Problem Statement
55% to 60% of the world’s population live in urban communities, the average marriage age for men is 29 and for women is 27. Given these trends, city dwellers tend to spend most of their twenties living with roommates. Finding and keeping a good roommate, however, gets more challenging as more and more people live in cities.
Design a mobile product experience that appeals to millennials and makes it safe to find the ideal roommate in any urban city. Design the experience from the perspective of a person who is looking for a roommate and an apartment. Once the ideal roommate is found, what else can this product do to improve the roommate experience?

Building Trust is the Key
“Finding a decent place with the right roommate feels more like a gamble than a choice.”
Moving to a new city is exciting — but finding the right person to share a home with? That’s where things get tricky. At StayMate, we believe finding a roommate isn’t just about rent or rooms — it’s about rhythm. Sleep schedules, Maggi cravings, playlists, and cleaning habits — the everyday stuff that makes or breaks a living experience. We’re not just building a platform. We’re creating a place where vibes match before addresses do. Where trust is earned, not assumed. And where “ghar jaisa feel” starts with the right StayMate.
